Food for thought - when guys offer to trade stud pitchers like Liriano for prospects who won't provide immediate help - theres usually something fishy going on. In Liriano's case 18 months on the shelf and the prospect of never being the same dominant pitcher again.
I make it a habit of waiting a week whenever I get ANY offer of a proactive trade offered by another owner - especially one like this (thats just me). If there is anything fishy going on that I don't already know about it has time to come out in the wash. If they are in that much of a hurry to make the trade that they aren't willing to wait a week - then thats a telltale sign somethings amiss.
Added: You initial post dated November 2, the surgery took place November 6 - the other owner had advance notice that the surgery was going to be done.
