I'm losing a few pitching categories in my league championship and I need a spot starter or two this weekend. Here's my options:
9/26
C. Lewis @ Ana (Sele)
A. Sele vs. Tex (Lewis)
N. Robertson vs. Min (Milton)
D. Moss @ NYY (Clemens)
J. Stanford @ Tor (Hendrickson)
M. Hendrickson vs. Cle (Stanford)
9/27
N. Cornejo vs. Min (Radke)
J. Wright vs. CWS (Buehrle)
R. Lopez @ NYY (Pettite)
J. DePaula vs. Bal (Johnson)
R. Bell vs. Bos (Suppan)
T. Mulholland @ Cle (Halladay)
9/28
R. Drese @ Ana (Washburn)
G. Knotts vs. Min (Rogers)
S. Douglass @ NYY (Wells)
Slim pickins', I know... but what 1 or 2 guys would you recommmend off that list, and why?
You don't have John Thomson (Rangers) vs. ANA. He's been pretty good the last few weeks. I've already picked him up for his start on Sunday. You might want to take a look at him if he's availiable.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Yuck .
Maybe Mulholland? I'd certainly avoid anyone facing an offensive minded club like the Yanks/Bos/Tex to be safe.

Have you sorted the pitchers by their Yahoo rank and their last month stats? I know that the Yahoo rank isn't perfect, but it will help separate the chaff from the wheat. I really can't recommend any of those pitchers.
What about relievers? Are there any good middle relievers available that might help you? I'm thinking of the Joe Nathans, The Motas, etc. Those guys are probably taken, but perhaps there is someone, anyone, out there that would help.
Actually, the Mullholland start is a type. It's supposed to read
T. Mullholland @ Tor (Halladay)
... so I would tend to lean away from starting him. There are not many good relievers out there, I already have Gordon, Marte, and Bradford on my team. I'd like to go with a starter that would get me a few Ks and a shot at a W. I guess there's no good answer...

I smell the stench of Moss's rotting corpse after the Yankees torch him.
