the cardinals JUST won the world series...and the first page on MLB.com is about the mets. its an article asking if the mets can win the world series next year. a bit early, no?

Still you'd think that MLB.com would at least wait until November until they start speculating about next year's WS.

I think it might be playing on the fact that the Mets were heavily favored to beat the Cards, and not only did they lose, but the Cards went on to win the WS fielding, arguably, their worst team in the past few years.

But yeah, I agree it's a little early for speculation; I also agree that thankfully it isn't another article kissing Eckstein's little-boy ass.

Def. too early to say that they WILL win. I mean its like the Mets paid MLB to write this article. There are plenty of other teams with legitimate chances next year.
