there has been a lot of talk about the tigers young pitchers and how they werent able to keep their head in the game. the cards had just as many youngsters out there. the cards rookie pitchers showed up big time and played like grizzled vets.

reyes made 17 starts in the regular season then allowed just 2 er in 8 ip in game 1.

kinney pitched 25 innings in the regular season and didnt allow an earned run in the post season.

tyler johnson had just 36.1 ip in the regular season and allowed only one earned run while striking out 12 in 7.1.

wainwright had more saves in the post season than he did in the regular season. his only blemish was an unearned run. he struck out 15 in 9.2 ip.
