Pogo, SoTD, Sluggers, JD, Ram, ah what the heck, yes even you JT and Cards fans everwhere..
Huge HUGE props on another World Series title. I am pretty sure that 10 is the most World Series won by a team with a budget, and for that, all the praise in the world ...
To be honest it was not even as close as each game score suggests. This Series itself was quite dominant. Sure ESPN had the Cards as underdogs every single day in October, except yesterday morning I might add, but they forgot all forgot about Dave Duncan. San Diego hit .225 against them, the Mets hit .231 and then Detroit followed up with a .199 mark against them. Do not think for one minute that that is some bizarre coincidence. It is a perfect 'game plan'.
And Tony. My man Tony .. Who can forget the genius of La Russa's game plan, "Hit it to the pitcher"? So simple, so little league, who knew ?.. Yet it clearly trumped Leyland’s game plan of "hit it to Chris Duncan". Heck, when it comes right down to it, the only thing that saved the Tigers from actually being swept is some joke of a pitcher covered head to toe in pine tar. As soon as I saw that infamous picture, I knew then, at that moment, this series was not even a contest anymore, this was going to be a rout.
Karma my friends, Karma with a capital K
Now, I cannot think of any five fans, and not just from the cafe, but also in all walks of life, more deserving of this morning’s joy and praise than you five. I just cannot. You guys are what I imagine all STL Cards fans to be like. Truly five of the classiest fans I have ever had the pleasure to come across, each and everyday ..
Props to you guys ..
Huge Props, Praise, and Congratulations to the 2006 Cardinals ...
I am seriously jealous ..
