I can think of worse deals out there. Not going to say it's a bad move at $5 million per, as tons of pitchers I'd take Moyer over make more than that.

It really doesn't seem like a terrible move. Solid pitcher for below market value. Not much upside obviously, but signing a potential free agent pitcher who will probably put up an ERA around 4.00 for 2 years at $5 mill per really is a pretty good deal.

No way they unload Burrell unless they pick up some of the contract. And after the Thome deal I don't think they want to do that again.

Well Moyer isn't the type of pitcher that age has that much of an affect on, compared to other pitchers at least. I mean, what's he going lose, speed on his fastball? At $5 mil per, I think it's a decent signing.

When he pitches to Julio Franco, will it be the oldest batter-pitcher matchup ever?

I think so after Julio's bday in August. A Paige-somebody (don't remember who) matchup added up to 92 yrs between them back in the 60's.

Moyer is a guy who will stay off the DL and give you 5 IP 3 er's every game. Not terrible not great.

I guess he's worth 5 mill

Pedro only gives you 5 IP but he k's 10 people.

So for the money I think its worth it
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment
