Prospect list help

Postby <3 Yadi » Fri Oct 20, 2006 11:20 pm

I've been watching this forum for a while and decided to register and get some help. I'm new to fantasy baseball but I'm a long time fan. I'm joining a dynasty league at work and we have our draft in two weeks. I need some help with prospect lists because we have a 20 man minor league roster and I have little knowledge of prospects.
What are some good lists or at least what criticisms of existing lists can help me?
Thanks.

Thanks. How do these lists stack up compared to the one at topprospectalert.com? I am totally unfamiliar with the names so I'm wondering if there are trends to one or the other or anything I should be aware of.

all lists are going to be different

most lists on sites don't take into account fantasy baseball so they might rank catchers a little higher than I would if I was making a list for fantasy purposes.

baseball america is the best minor league site around, nothing is even close to it. check out there site. you can click on prospects and find the 2005 top 100 prospect list towards the bottom. good stuff

Also, shortsavage has an excellent site. It's project prospect .com

Offers insight/breakdown/interviews. Very timely.

Muchas gracias.

This link should take you to there -- not sure if the one you did works Thomas.

The AtThePlate site maintains a list of top prospects lists. Here's the link:

http://www.attheplate.com/2006/06_rookied.htm

The 1st part is a consensus ranking. The individual lists are below. The most recent ones are at the top. These are all mid-season lists from 2006. The end-of-season list on a regular prospect website that I know of is at TopProspectAlert. Here's the link:

http://www.topprospectalert.com/top100b ... spects.htm

IMO, it's not a great list but not terrible either.

At John Sickels' site, we are currently doing a 'community' Top 100 list. We're generally doing 1 ranking per day and we've selected just the first 10 so far. Here's a link to the latest poll:

http://www.minorleagueball.com/story/20 ... /75352/967

I think will be one of the better lists (wisdom of the masses).

Hope this helps!
