sure beltran was the final out of the game but you can't give him all of the blame. what happened between inning 2-8? the whole team is accountable for the lose.
i was wondering why billy wagner wasn't thrown in the game in the 8th. it's game 7...you gotta play your studs.

You mean, the guy that got the only game 7 RBI for the Mets?

Why would you throw Wagner in there? Would you not save him for the toughest part of the order?

Yeah, shame that he had the only hit that produced a run for his team in by FAR the most important game of his career.
Let's blame him. :-t

Hm. I thought this thread was going to be about Beltran this winter.

Beltran had a fantastic year and a great post-season for the Mets, justifying his 2004 contract. What really is there to discuss? Because he was the last out in the series they're going to look to move him? Are you crazy??
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

He has nothing to be ashamed of.

St. Louis played a great series, Suppan was masterful last night, and they didn't have Pedro Martinez.

They do need to add another younger arm to the rotation, but they'll be just fine.
