The Philadelphia Philles hired Art Howe, Davey Lopes and Jimy Williams as coaches today.
Not sure what to make of all that. I guess that there were just too many re-treads out of work so somebody had to bite the bullet. Props to you Pat Gillick.

I imagine the Philadelphia press is going to have a field day speculating which one will take over for Manuel in the spring, during their first slump, at the allstar break or at the end of the season. It will never end ..

Talk about turning the pressure cooker up a few notches on theee 'ol manager eh ... :-o

heh...

i always wonder about coach recycling... for most of these guys there is usually a good reason why they no longer have the job that they most recently had...

I wouldn't mind having any of those guys instead of Manuel. I don't care if they are retreads. He easily cost us 6 games last year and probably 5-6 the year before as well. The guy just doesn't make the right moves.

So who's next in line for the first base coach/outfield and baserunning instructor's job in Washington now? Has anyone heard any rumors?
