can't go wrong with a team that can potentially have arod/jeter/matsui/damon/abreu/mussina/rivera/johnson/cano/giambi/posada/sheffield/wang ...especially in that type of draft format.
I won a league this year with the Phillies / Padres, in a 15 team league where we each took two teams in a snake draft. I believe the Yankees / Royals came in 4th out of the 15th.

I'd LOVE to give that a try.

i really like that idea. i think an auction might be the best way to draft, otherwise a reverse snake. i might try to get the guys in my league to do this format as well next year.

To a degree, but they will also have the 20th best team so it should work out okay. Well maybe the snake draft isn't the best method as it is only fair with an even number of rounds.
Another thing - you can't trade players, but you can trade teams.
It might work better as an auction as opposed to a snake draft.
Agreed. And how about letting owners buy as many or few teams as they like? IE if you think your best chance is to buy, say, Colorado, TB, KC and Washington, you can do that, or blow it all on the Yankees (I'd imagine the bidding for NYY would get close to the total budget) or go for some combo like Mariners and WhiteSox.

I did something like this 2 years ago with my friends but it wasn't fun at all because we only picked 1 team and only went with the players from that one. By June almost everyone stopped paying attention. I went with the marlins and finished in 3rd behind the yankees and the red sox (the red sox team started to cheat in august and had a stacked team with anyone who was on teams that weren't picked). But, by using a couple more teams I think this might make a fun fantasy league.
