Has anyone heard anything about this? I just read Rob Neyers article on ESPN about it. I'm just curious if there is any truth to this because I have a trade on the table RJ and Marcus Giles for Bonds and I'm not sure what to do with it. Thanks
I seriously doubt that he retires after this season.

I don't think he will accomplish either one this year. Sorry Eftda, but I think he's going to rest too much. He will hit 661 very early next season. As to the World Series, Bonds/Schmidt can't carry them all the way. Sorry.

Word is that he wants to go to the AL and become a DH once his contract with the Giants is up. I'm sure the Yankees will make a play for him since they are one of the only teams that can afford to pay that much for a DH. I'm sure Baltimore will also try to sign him, since they're mentioned as being in the market for every free agent, but never sign one.

interesting call....i think everyone would be surprised to see him not return next year though, he is still a dominant hitter that seems to have at least another great year in him.
