for ian stewart and garrett atkins...

atkins broke out in a MAJOR way... does either one move?

i don't know much about either of their defensive prowess... just kinda looking for some thoughts on their future roles...

ie. i've got atkins and bj upton and brandon wood... i'm thinking 1 of the latter 2 gets moved to 3rd... i can keep all three AND start them if for some? reason one would moved to the OF???

thoughts?

thanks,
jhonny. ;-)

Stewart will move to the OF. I "think" I've read somewhere that they're going to try him there next year, but it makes sense anyway with Atkins becoming a stud at 3B.

Wood will be either a 3B or a SS...most likely a 3B with others battling at SS. He doesn't seem like a CF type to me, although that's because my brain likes 6'3 guys elsewhere.

I think your best chance of either Upton, Wood, or Atkins becoming a OF is Upton, but I he'll be given every shot to succeed next year at 3B. However, I think they will all be 3B when it is all said and done.....maybe you could explore a trade.

yeah... thanks San D...

that's what i was thinking too... prolly see what i could get for upton...

wood and atkins BOTH look like studs...

unless someone out there saw something from upton this year to move him from a 35-40 swipe guy to a 50-55 swipe guy??? 60?

anyone? :-D

thanks again.

yea stewart is already moved to OF. Wood will be a 3b, as orlando cabrera is likely going nowhere unless its to boston or baltimore for manny or tejada. also erik aybar is there and could be another chone figgins in a year or two (we already know he can play ss and 3b, wouldnt be surprised if he got a few reps at 2b sometime). upton will likely be a 1b or 3b. TB only has openings at those two spots. their OF is packed with mlb ready players and a few minor leaguers who are already ready to play but have nowhere to go. Therefore upton will stay at 3b, or move to 1b if his D isnt good enough at 3b. as for him getting 50+ sb. id say its not likely. however if he can get into a groove offensively, it wouldnt put it past him.
