Available CF might not be so plentiful. Cameron's option will get picked up too and St. Louis has an option on Edmonds.

If the Twins hadn't picked up Hunter's option than I think the Cards would have gone after him. But I think Edmonds is gone after this year unless they redo his contract. He's not worth his option.

Well his option is $10 million and he has a $3 million buyout. I can't think of a better FA CF option than Edmonds for $7 million and 1 year. Plus the Cards top prospect is on track to be the starting CF in 2008 so I don't think they will sign someone long term.
