I'd say he won't be with the Angels. If he isn't traded I think he'll spend at least another year in the minors because I don't think the Angels feel he's ready yet. If he gets traded to a non contending team then they may let him get some on the job experience in the majors.

Unless Miggy carbrera or Carl Crawford becomes available by trade, I don't think the Angels are trading Wood... He's the SS for 2008 probably when OC's contract expires.

what about Aybar?

Are there still rumblings that Wood may change positions? I've read 3rd at one point, I believe.

Where did you ever get the idea he would go to the Yankees? I have not hear of any rumors of their interest in him. Sounds like a fantasy trade to me.

Wood will more than likely switch to 3b during the season. He will probably end up playing there for the majority of his career as well.

I'd heard him mentioned in the rampant ARod trade rumors (Wood/Santana for ARod for example). Not that there's any validity to the rumors but that's where the Yankees idea would have come from.

The Angels problem is that they have money to spend on players but they have an inability to trade their hitting prospect in order to land a big name player. They target all these big name guys but can't seem to woo them via FA or their team to swing a deal. Tejada, Konerko, Manny, and Aramis Ramirez or A-Rod (this season) are all the big names that have been tossed around but none of them ever suffice.

With that said I think Brandon Wood will probably stay in the minors.

Why would Miguel Cabrera be traded?
