Yoohoo Showers

Postby pilambp » Tue Sep 23, 2003 9:01 am

I was wondering how many people out there actually practice the tradition of dousing the winner of a fantasy baseball league with Yoohoo after the season. If you are not familiar with the tradition, that is just it. At the end of the fantasy baseball season, the participants in the league are entitled to give the champion the proverbial "Yoohoo Shower". How many people actually do this?

I was the proud recipient of a sneak attack after I won my AL-Keeper league last year. It was the first year for the league, and the commish snuck up behind me and covered me and my entire couch in that chocolatey beverage. Since I'm the reigning champion now, it is my resposibility to administer the treatment to this year's winner.

In one of my leagues, we use a pile of Yoohoo advertising cards we found in one of those free postcard racks. Not traditional, but keeps the couches clean... :-D

Yeah, we do it. Started as a mean way to get the winner of our league a few years ago. He churned the entire season. So we doused him, told him it was traditional. That the winner of the year before got to coat him in YooHoo.

Since then, however, it has been tradition. Luckily, I won last year and think I'll win this year so I should be safe. Unless they start a new tradition.

I think that I remember that's what the original Roto league did. I don't remember, exactly.
