Why is this national news?

Its on the front page of CNN.COM

I'm sorry that he died. I'm sorry anyone died but Anna Nicole is a "D" list celebrity.

When people like Buck O'Neil who were embassadors to the human race die without much mention, and a drug addict son of a D list emabrrasment to the human race makes the front page it really makes me angry.
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

The problem is that Anna Nicole Smith has more fans than Buck. People love knowing about stars. Smith's rise and fall from grace fascinates people. It's a shame that Buck didn't get the proper recognition he deserves.
