Being Arrested....

Just got back from court.. it sucked.. sat there for 2 hours just to get a piece of paper, which i now have ten days to fill out and bring it to another place a couple blocks past the courthouse.

Basically i got the Misdemeanor Intervention Program.. i cant get arrested or ticketed for 6 months and my arrest will be erased from my record, sadly its gonna cost a decent amount of money.. but at least i wont have to put on my job applictions and other things that ive been arrested and ill have a clean record after its all done..

Just make sure you don't break any laws for the next 6 months. If it's like the deferred adjudication program we have for traffic tickets down here, breaking the law again puts both things on your record and there's nothing you can do about it.

Yeah, we have that in PA only it's called Accelerated Rehabilitative Deposition. Basically you pay some cash, take some classes and your record is expunged... but if you screw up again, it comes back.

It's pretty popular in rural areas where people get DUI's quicker than they get STD's.

RyanK, are you losing your license, or do you get to keep it with the deferral? If so, I'd say you made out pretty well.
