I've done the hard work.....

Postby J35J » Thu Oct 05, 2006 9:23 pm

Hey fellas/ladies, just wanted to give a little something back to the community that is.... the fantasy baseball cafe. Anyway, i've finished putting together my excel spreadsheet with all the 2006 final stats in it which includes....

- 36 catchers
- 58 firstbasemen/DH
- 49 secondbasemen
- 45 thirdbasemen
- 41 shortstops
- 139 outfielders
- 183 starting pitchers
- 61 relief pitchers

also....

- I have ages for every player as of May 31st, 2007
- Position eligibility for every player(based on 10 games played or 5 games started)
- Links to every players profile on espn(so you can check past years stats or anything else)
- My ranking system(or what I use to start my rankings with)

The ranking is just a little formula I have that when you put in your '07 predictions, based on 5x5, it will spit out a number which you can sort and this becomes your starting point for '07 rankings. From there just go in and tweak things based on personal opinion or whatever but its usually a really good place to start. Anyway, just let me know if you want me to email it to ya and you can be off and running extra early on your 2007 rankings.

Yeah a PM is fine. I'm actually getting off the computer for the night but I will send it to ya sometime tomorrow.

As for everyone else that I've sent it to.... let me know if you think the ranking system is helpful, I've used it for a few years and it seems to be a nice starting point for me. Anyway, I'll start sending the spreadsheet out again tomorrow for anyone who PMs me tonight.

Thanks, the spread sheet is great. Do you have one with your predictions already entered?

Haha no not just yet. I just got done doing what you have. I usually do my rankings over a course of a month or more just to give me something to do during the offseason. Once I do get it done though I would be happy to share.

Thanks... It would be neat if you added filters at the top so people can sort by cats...

Yeah, but hitting Data>Sort isn't that much work.
