Depends on the type of lawn mower engine. If it's big enough to have a drain plug, like a car would have, remove the plug and drain the gas out. If it's not, like Mad said, turn the mower upside down to get it out or create a siphon using a plastic tube.

Wait, wait.....I was only kidding (hence the smiley). I'm no mechanic at all. Plus you said "your lawnmower", so I thought of a normal push lawn mower that only holds a gallon or so. I don't know about a commercial lawn mower. How big are we talking?

It's my dad's lawnmower. Have you ever seen like a lawn service? It's a push mower, but one of the big ones?

You need to take it to somebody who works on your dads equipment and let them drain the oil tank and clean it out. Yes it will destroy your engine. If you have some auto mechanic ability, you can probably do it yourself, but if you are a bit hesitant, just take it to a pro and let them clean it up for you.

I'm dead. I did it without realizing and tried to start it. It started, then stalled and gas came dripping out the front.
