My draft,

Image

As you can see, not the best draft. Major moves include trading Wagner for Thome and Otsuka for Lackey. JJ Putz is the only other standout FA pickup.

It's not what you have, it's what you do with it. :-D

There was about a 4 team race down til the last week of the season, so a well deserved win. The competition from the top half of this league is always top of the line and just about the hardest league I've been in, in that regard.

Well done to Bleach. I've played in many Cafe leagues now for the past three years and he's the only opponent I've never beaten. I knew when I got him into the league that he'd be my biggest obstacle and he didn't disappoint. Coming back from the dead to lead this thing with just 10 days to go was satisfying but I couldn't hang on and in the end Bleach just stayed too hot.

I felt the league this year was more competitive than last year but still not as active as it should have been. Next year it will be even stronger as we source out the most competitive and active managers around the cafe to include at the expense of those that can be carried no longer.

It was definately very close. Not only did NZF hold the lead with less than 2 weeks to go, both mustangs and tribe-fan were withing 2 pts of the lead in Sept. A closer look at the overall standings will show that one bad day could have easily erased my entire lead.

btw, NZF, do you want to handle recruitment for next year?

As the league winner recruitment is your priviledge but if you're happy to pass the duty over then it would be my honour.

Is a Cafe league based on post count or are other factors used to determine the players?
2008: 37th ranked Yahoo PLUS Rotisserie Public team (24 weeks in top 45, 9 weeks as #1)
2006: 18th ranked Yahoo PLUS Rotisserie Public team (17 weeks in top 35)
