Interesting how much they want to hide A-Rod and not let him kill a rally:

CF Damon
SS Jeter
RF Abreu
1B Sheffield
DH Giambi
3B Rodriguez
LF Matsui
C Posada
2B Cano

That is still 1 crazy lineup. 8-o

I haven't seen Shef hit since he returned but his numbers haven't been that great. What do you think about him hitting clean-up?

I think that Torre is doing the left/right thing but that is more of an indication of how much he isn't banking on A-Rod than it is an endorsement of Sheffield.

Maybe so but there I have to think A-Rod will have runners on alot.

Giambi - .413 career OBP
Shef - .398 career OBP
Abreu - .412 OBP

Batting A-Rod 6th might be more of a challenge to him than anything. You aren't going to hide anyone in that monster lineup.

This is definite already? :-?

The only thing I would have expected would be ARod switched with Sheffield, since Sheff hasn't been back for long.

Certainly looks like a challenge to Alex to me.

As good as Cano is, I still like seeing him hit 9 with the top of the order up to drive him in. Posada is too slow to be the #9 hitter.

Still is pretty damn crazy to see the guy that came in 3rd for the batting title hitting 9th 8-o

That lineup is stacked. There should be plenty of offense this year so long as they all decide to work together this year instead of swinging for the fences. I love the idea of having Cano hit 9th in this lineup. Just when you get through All of the power guys, you have 3 in a row who can play small ball and get on base in front of the big guns again. Cano will definitely get his chance to shine at the top of a lineup sooner or later, but this is a great spot for him right now.

A .340 hitter batting 9th. Decent team if you ask me. ;-D

With that lineup, I don't see him starting out above 7th, best-case scenario. As the season progresses, if he's doing well, who knows.
