Bullpen needs to instantly shape-up, consistent hitting up and down the line-up, someone besides Carpenter/ Suppan pitching well... Despite all this, I'll call for two upsets (LA isn't favored, are they?)
Cards over Pads LAD over Mets
LAD over Cards
and then I have no idea who's coming out on top in the AL.
I don't see LA as the underdog against a Pedro-less Mets team. I think losing Pedro cost the Mets their chance at a ring this year.
The Mets won all this year without Pedro... In fact, with him they were 11-12, and without him they were 86-53.
If anything, knowing for sure that Pedro's out makes the playoffs more of a relief. At least we (the fans and the players) aren't stuck in limbo and the Mets can move forward.
I'll go with the Padres over the Cards
The Mets over the Dodgers
and the Mets over the Pads
The Mets have won without Pedro for most of the season, so I'm not worried about that. Here's an interesting stat about just how good the Mets bullpen is: the Mets were 71-4 with a sixth-inning lead.
I always root for the NL based on who I'd like to see play the Yankees. Obviously the Yankees aren't in the World Series yet, but I don't really care until they are eliminated.
I've already seen the Padres. Been there, done that. The Cardinals? Eh. I wouldn't mind, but they were in the series just two years ago, and I'm not sure they are good enough to get out of the first round.
I've seen the Mets too, but watching them lose in the World Series (especially if it's to the Yankees) would be satisfying, especially to hear those morons who call up WFAN shut up.
The Dodgers...this is the one I'm liking. I've got a few Dodger fans in my family, and I'd say they have as good a shot as any to make it to the World Series. Nomar has always been one of my favorite players. Plus I just like the irony that Grady Little brings his team to the World Series in his first year after leaving the Red Sox.
Let's see ex-Sox Johnny Damon, Nomar, Derek Lowe, David Wells, Todd Walker, Josh Bard, Cla Meredith, Mark Bellhorn are all in the playoffs..and the Sox are golfing.

Say. Does anyone know where I can find regular season records v. specific teams. I'd like to know how each playoff team did in the regular season against each other.
