RVD vs. Hardcore Holly

Postby Smooth » Wed Sep 27, 2006 12:29 pm

Did anyone catch the ECW telecast on Tuesday? I know that wrestling is staged and that wrestlers cut themselves to draw the blood but Hardcore Holly actually had about a foot long gash on his back from the suplex he gave RVD onto a table. The cameras kept giving the viewers close ups on the wound. It was pretty gross. You have to give Hardcore Holly props for continuing despite the pain I'm sure he was feeling.

Yeah, that gash really came as a result as to hitting that part of his back on a part of the table frame. That wasn't staged bloodletting at all. Normally, all the staged bloodletting comes from blading the forehead or from barbed wire/thumbtack spots on the back, usually, but this certainly wasn't staged.

Naturally, Hardcore Holly is a pornstar-sounding name. But so would Crash Holly and Molly Holly. ;-)

Injuries do happen. Just because some are more noticeable than others, that doesn't make them anything overly special to me. I still think HHH finishing the match with his quad snapped off of his knee is one of the biggest I've seen. Taker/Foley Hell in a Cell too. Mick took some monster damage in that match and just kept going. Just a part of the business, but much respect for those who continue despite the injury. ;-D
