Not if Pujols has anything to say about that. Just need to get him to the plate.

Well, duh. When the Yankees win by 15, why would Mo need to pitch?

7 home games...3 against the Padres (tough), 4 against the Brewers (not tough).

It would take a miracle at this point, and I'll admit at being one that counted Houston out 2 months ago. But, stranger things have happened and it's not impossible. I think, if they win 6 of 7, they will be in.

I wouldn't classify the Brewers as a "not tough" opponent. They've won 5 games in a row, dating back to a Sept 20 shutout of the Cards, the same game that started the Cardinals' 6-game losing streak. Hot Brewers, cold Cards, St. Louis getting a 2-2 split in the series doesn't seem at all guaranteed.

Cards lost to Padres while the Astros beat the Phils tonight. Houston is now only 2.5 games back.

Getting back to that Cards-Brewers series to close out the season, the Cards have to face Capuano and Sheets back-to-back before Carpenter gets a start.
