7 home games...3 against the Padres (tough), 4 against the Brewers (not tough).

It would take a miracle at this point, and I'll admit at being one that counted Houston out 2 months ago. But, stranger things have happened and it's not impossible. I think, if they win 6 of 7, they will be in.

I think that 5 may even do it.

STL has a rough schedule coming up.

All I know is this was a great time for the Cardinals to get swept. Thanks guys!!!

It's possible Houston makes it in, but not that likely. Don't forget, however, that Houston only has to gain 3 on the Cardinals right now. St Louis had a rained out game against San Fran that they did not make up, so if Houston happens to be a 1/2 game behind at the end of the season, they force St Louis to play the Giants in a make-up game.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

As much as I would love to see Roger back in the post-season, the Astros scare me and I would rather play a beat up Cardinals team.

They need to win out, so they have almost no chance of making the post season,

You really expect St. Louis to only win 1 game this week. 8-o You do realize that Houston is 4 games back in the loss column.

I don't see them making up the ground in the little time they have.

Astros do have the better schedule, but I think the gap is just too much to overcome in a week. They'll come up a game or 2 short.

Maybe if they have Oswalt and Clemens alternate starts the rest of the way... ;-7 . But honestly, I'm guessing they won't make it.
