3.5 games out of the Central. Do they have a shot? Wildcard?

I would be very suprised if they did. 3.5 games is just a lot to make up with just 7-8 games to go. They'd have to win out and hope St. Louis did terrible. That's also their only way in, becuase they have no chance at winning the Wild Card.

The Cards have the huge advantage with their next few games being at home. IMHO, It's too late for Roger Clemens and the Astros to make a push.

Houston has 1 with Philly, then 3 with Pit and 3 with ATL if they can win 5 of those 7 games I think they stand a very good chance.

Let's say they do this. The Cards have to go 2-6 just to tie for first. Even with this bad streak, I think they can beat this. Odds are agaisnt the Astros for sure.

The Astros will have to do much better then 5-2 over these next 7 games. They basically have to sweep all 7 games to have any chance at winning the Central.

7 home games...3 against the Padres (tough), 4 against the Brewers (not tough).

It would take a miracle at this point, and I'll admit at being one that counted Houston out 2 months ago. But, stranger things have happened and it's not impossible. I think, if they win 6 of 7, they will be in.
