It's possible it COULD work out for you. In cases of injuries, there are always scrambles to find punters. Even my team, the Redskins, were entertaining the thought of holding a tryout for a punter to replace Derrick Frost and his preseason 19-yard shanks. It might have been to motivate him, because he's one of the league's top punters so far in the regular season. Even if you could get on with an NFL Europe or Canadian team, it'll be a great, memorable experience and really help your chances of making the NFL. You seem to have a great plan and even if it doesn't happen, you're be in great shape and will have no regrets.
