Roger to pitch on 3 days rest for the fans!!

Postby devastor » Fri Sep 22, 2006 12:13 pm

Roger Clemens will pitch Sunday on 3 days rest for the last time at home. He asked owner Drayton McLane to give him this last chance. Most pitchers need 4 to 5 days of rest.

"Clemens rode off into what was perceived then to be the sunset in superhero fashion Wednesday, shutting out the Reds over six frames en route to his 348th career win. He exited to two standing ovations as the crowd saluted Clemens after what seemed to be his final home start of the season. Now, it appears that what is sure to be a capacity crowd at Minute Maid Park Sunday night will have a chance to say goodbye one last time."

Should be a game for the ages.

great end to a great career. he did only toss 107 pitches in his last outing, so going on three days rest probably isn't that bad for him. plus he's still technically in the first half of the season by his usage anyways. ;-D

Come on now. How on earth do we know if this is the end of his career? ;-)

If he's offered 4 million a month (or whatever he was getting this season) again by a team, he'll be back.

Yeah, if Clemens doesn't play how's he going to live...he might have to sell off his controlling shares in Microsoft just to survive. ;-7

Clemens has to be feeling the same thing that Latrell Spewell did.

I'm a yankee fan so and i have the utmost respect for clemens but it really has come to a point where i just don't care about his retirement anymore. Brett favre is becoming like that also. will he? won't he? he's retired, now he's back, retired again but back again. Just do it already and send me a postcard when you're done.
