Just in time for my playoffs - this sucks! Reyes, Delgado, and Beltran are all out tonight. I hope they will play again or maybe this will be a trend until the season is over (now that they have clinched).

Wright sat too.

Any Mets fans w/info here? Has Willie announced any plans to rest his stars for the rest of the season? (And if so, what do those of us who own said stars do with them?)

it's probably a good thing that wright sat for me....i'd rather go 0/0 than 0/4 :-D

Hey-

You have to figure that with two weeks left, Randolph is going to give all of this regulars (especially Beltran, Delgado, and Wright) as much rest as possible to get them ready for the playoffs. I was banking on a scenario like this happening which is why I stopped pursuing many of their players prior to our trading deadline. Mets wise, good move! Fantasy wise, it SUCKS!!! LOL!!

seriously though, any OFFICIAL news? If beltran/reyes/delgado/wright are only going to play half the games, i'd literally drop them for FA players.

It's frustrating--there will probably be no announcements made, but I'd be surprised if any of those guys started more than four days a week, and they'll probably get pulled after three AB most of the games they do start. Willie can't let 'em get rusty heading into the playoffs, so they have to play, but he's going to treat them like it's spring training.

Of the bunch, I only own Wright, and I will have no hesitation dropping him if it becomes clear he's going to play 50 percent of the time. However, I'm giving things a couple days to come into focus before I make any moves.

I haven't seen anything official from the Mets, but it is a good bet they will rest as many starts as possible. If the league isnt a keeper and you are desparate, check the wire for the hottest bat. A hot bat versus not knowing if someone will play is a good tradeoff.
