Seems unlikely. The DL is more or less a bookkeeping device for roster management. As MLB teams have moved to 40-man rosters anyway, there seems little reason for them to officially DL players who are done for the year.
That really sucks for you, though--can your commish bend the rules It seems absurd that you could be so negatively affected in the standings for a rule that is presumably designed to curtail streaming. It's utterly arbitrary and while it follows the letter of the law, it seems somewhat antithetical to the spirit of it.
