Yeah, I saw AVP on HBO Zone (a.k.a. HBO Suck). The only thing I liked about it though was that it was about 70 minutes long; good thing too... I've seen episodes of CSI: Miami that have held my attention nearly that long.

I think it's the type of movie that you need to watch 2 or 3 times to really understand the plot and appreciate the art that it is.

I love HBO actually. I record movies in HD and watch them all the time.
The thing about movies like AVP is, you know they are going to suck before you watch them... Yeah partly, it was good since it was very trite and to the point.
Plus I have a soft spot for Aliens series.

I dont think I'll ever see the art. I don't think I'll ever watch this movie again.
There are a lot of art house films that are not well-received and are considered quite good; the Black Dahlia isn't one of them. Someone here mentioned Lost in Translation. The movie won best screenplay (and best director I believe) but I know a lot of people who were both bored and frustrated by it. That's an art film. The Black Dahlia however was not well received by audiences or critics alike, which generally translates to be a stinker.
