So you don't think its exciting that he could be 1 of 6 players and one of 3 non dirty cheaters to hit 60?
Pretty exciting to me
10 years ago, I would have been thrilled to see somebody closing in on 60 home runs. But since it has been done 6 times and threatened another 5 times since the early 90s, No I don't see it as very exciting anymore. If he gets to 70, then of course it would be exciting, but 60 means nothing anymore.
I think 60 is pretty darn exciting considering only one non cheater has passed it
What is there, 2-3 other threads in Page 1 that have gone in this direction? Back to GT with you now.

I honestly think there's something special about every single person that passes Ruth/Maris. The records went SO long before they got broken - both the first time and the second - and it's still so difficult to do (I believe it's McGwire once, Bonds once and Sosa 3 times) that it's exciting to see people make a run at the old mark regardless of whether they pass up the new mark or not.

How do you know Howard isn't cheating?
He doesn't quck like a duck, walk like a duck, or look like a duck.
Anyways I forgot those other guys didn't cheat cause it wasn't against the rules. So they were criminals.
So it will be the first non criminal to hit 60 since Maris.
Thats pretty exciting
It is exciting, but it was exciting in 1998 also. Plus Jason Grimsley, Rafael Betancourt, Alex Sanchez, Ryan Franklin et al didn't quack, walk, or look like ducks either.
Do I think Howard cheats? No. But would I bet against it? No way.

How do we know that Ruth wasn't on horse steroids?

I don't understand why no one is getting excited about it now.
It was a major record for 37 years then 3 guys broke it in no time then no one has come close since.
