out for this year, doesetn wwant a Liriano type thing, he said he's coming back next year as a starter but its not confirmed yet , i mean its freakin sept

just curious. why wouldnt they keep him as a closer?

well he was never projected as a closer, he always was supposed to be a starter, but he relieved last year when they brought him up late, & this year at the begining of the season they had a full staff so started him in the pen, then Francona put him as closer & well away he went, no one knew he would be this insane as a closer, so since then its been debated what his future is as a starter or closer & it looks like sox r thin in the rotation so i think he will be a starter next year

Agree with above, he was supposed to be a starter but they had such desparation in the bullpen. Papelbon said he assumes he will start next year, but we'll see what Theo Epstein and Francona want to do.

OK. Makes sense. BUT - who will close for the Sox next season? Foulke?
