Why isn't Hafner on the DL?

Postby seniorpaul » Fri Sep 15, 2006 11:18 am

Since he's done for the year, why don't the Indians place him on the DL? I don't know about Cleveland, but my fantasy team could certainly use the roster spot that DL'ing him would open up.

I think some teams just don't bother with the expanded September rosters. The Braves only just now begrudgingly put Chipper on the DL because of an insurance/legal/money loophole matter. Sucks for fantasy, but what can you do?

That's what I thought, with the expanded rosters it doesn't really matter to Cleveland. For us fantasy nuts however, its a different story. <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

I'm in a keeper, so i can't cut ties with him. And to make things worse, i'm only a couple points out of first, so I REALLY could have used that roster spot.

I dropped him in a non-keeper league, and the guy I'm playing this week picked him up of the WW and started him once! I'm a nice guy, so I talked to him later that day and mentioned that Hafner was done for the year. Pretty funny though. Since there was no DL, the kid didn't know why I was dropping him.
