Chipper Jones on DL but could return next week

Postby dbacks4life » Fri Sep 15, 2006 1:16 am

Atlanta is putting him on the DL for insurance purposes, don't hear that too often. Here is what the GM had to say:

General manager John Schuerholz insisted the 1999 NL MVP could return early next week. "He will not be out for the rest of the year," Schuerholz said. "He'll be eligible to return on Tuesday. If his side heals, we'll be ready to go."

I think he should just sit out for the rest of the season and let his oblique completely heal. It just seems like his oblique is fine for a few days and then it starts nagging him again.

Yeah, he should let it heal but he wants to come back really bad.

If you are in a weekly league it is a big gamble. I would wait until the Braves activate him before I make any decisions.

That's real tough. Jones took swings in the batting cage yesterday but they are still unsure if he will be activated tomorrow.
