Issy in or Issy out?

Postby bcb » Wed Sep 13, 2006 9:14 am

From Yahoo
Sep 12 Isringhausen received a cortisone shot for his ailing hip on Monday and won't be used by the St. Louis Cardinals until the weekend. He has not pitched since Sept. 6. "I'm really not doing anything until later this week," Isringhausen said. "I don't know what's going to happen."

So what's the deal with Issy? Do I need to think about dumping Wainwright this weekend? Any other updates out there?

The last I had read was that he was going to throw a bullpen session today. No word on if it happened or how it went.

I'm curious to see who gets the next STL save opp. though.

From CBSsportsline:

Analysis: It has been reported Izzy won't return to the closer's role at all this season. Keep him reserved until further notice. Looper is a sleeper for saves if you're desperate. The contending Cards should remain a solid source of save opportunities.

This was yesterday from Rotoworld:

Jason Isringhausen, who had a cortisone shot Monday for his ailing left hip, said he was not encouraged after throwing approximately 40 pitches in a bullpen session today.
It's getting even more difficult to be optimistic. "I still feel it at times," Isringhausen said. "I'll see how it is tomorrow, and take it day by day. I need to talk to Walt (Jocketty) Tony (La Russa) and Dunc (pitching coach Dave Duncan) and find out what their plans are for me, and just kind of go from there."
Tonights review is almost ready to go. Check it out when you get the chance.
