I don't know but Josh Johnson was also taken out after 70 pitches....

For JJ's case I am hoping it's because of the rain delay earlier and they just let him stay for 5 IPs so he was eligible for the win.

He was pinch hit for in the 5th inning with the go ahead run on 2nd. The pinch hitter got a hit and the Padres took the lead.

I don't know if there was an injury or not, but it looks like just a strategic decision to lift him that early.
