Thoughts About the Stretch Drive??

As I write this, the Angels are 5 and 1/2 out of first.

They have 11 games remaining before starting their string of 7 games against the A's. I think they need to go 8-3 minimum in those games. Then if Oakland goes 6-6, they will be 3 games out, and the Angels can try to go 5-2 in those games.

What is amazing to me is that they are still in this with 2 rookie pitchers in their starting rotation. Hopefully, Weaver and Saunders both continue to keep their poise the rest of the way. I think Weaver will, as he has been around the major leagues because of his brother, but not sure about Saunders.

I like the move putting Izturis on the leadoff spot. I think that will spark the club.

They will need GA's to continue his hot streak and hope Rivera catches fire as well to help out Vladdy.

i hope that u are right...

i have already given up this season...the As are just too strong on this final stretch...they also have a softer schedule then we do...its not that i dont believe the angels can finish strong...but oakland will not go 6-6...when the angels go into the oakland series...i think at best the angels will be down by 4 games...and that is simply too much to overcome against a strong pitching staff like the athletics...

me and my buddies have tickets to tonights game...but decided to just go somewhere else and watch monday night football...
