I have the exact same 401(k) from Principal. It's pretty confusing and their website is so dumb, it's impossible just find basic gains and losses.

That reminds me of a crazy aunt I have who recently retired and said she's in line to reap $200k off of her 401k. The folks who handle her money must be gifted hedge fund investors then.

Yea I basically have no idea what any of it means. I'm like ok I've made 1,000 this year just for putting my money in.. thats good i guess

Well I can tell you that I've put in appr. 1700 and my account balance is appr. 2700.

My company matches half up to 10% of my contribution.

My company matches 0... it SUCKS! I'm seriously considering pulling out of my worthless 401k and investing in a roth IRA or something.

401 is useless without some kind of match.

It looks like you have three different stock/funds in your portfolio. Working from left to right is

Name of the fund
What type of fund it is
Begining balance of the statement
How much $$$ you've put in
How much money you earned from the market going up or down
Expenses you've paid for having the account
Your ending balance (which will be your beginning balance on your next statement)
How many shares you have of each fund.

my company doesnt even have a 401k.
