Maybe math is different Down Under, but your off by a couple decimals there. 1 in 1,000 is 0.1%, and I would guess the number is closer to 10% than 1%.

On a crime side note.
This one study in Media Studies they had was asking heavy tv users 8hours + a day who likley they thought it would be that they were violently attacked in their lifetime.
The heavy tv users though a 1 in 10 chance.
In actuality its about 1 in 10,000 I think.

Seriously? You guys would honestly say that over there, 10% of the population are low lifes? That means that 1 in every 10 people you meet on the street.
I'd say that rate is much lower here.....I'd say 2% maybe.

well it depends what you mean by low-life. my definition of a low life is someone who could give a damn about anyone in the world beside themselves, completely self serving. and id be willing to say that 5-7 % of the population fits in that mold.

ok well that greatly reduces our search. id say find the percentage of the mentally ill and drug addicts in the world and you probably have your answer.
