I want to work on a stat called Homerism Over Replacement Announcer, compliling fan data from their home announcers or guys they listen to a lot.
Most pairs of announcers have some degree of Homerism in them, but who are the biggest homers? Give your announcers a score from 0 to +3, with 0 as neutral and positve scores showing increased degrees of homerism.
Once I get all the data, I will turn my results into some sort of article, blog, or podcast (hehe, who knows).
I'll start:
SF: Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper, +1
CHW: Hawk Harelson and Darrin Jackson, +3
OAK: Ray Fosse and Glenn Kuiper/Tim Roye, +1
ATL: Skip Caray and Pete Van Wieren, 0
LA: Vin Scully, 0

I listened to Skip Caray and Pete Van Wieren for years and I can tell you they deserve a much higher score than 0. Let's say a +2. I hate listening to them because they're so obnoxious about the Braves.

Any other opinions on the Braves?
Any opinions on other teams?
Hehe, is this really too complicated?
It should take less than 30 seconds to respond to. I've given out surveys that take 15 minutes and gotten a better response than I have tonight.
I bet 9 out of 10 baseball fans over 90 years old would be able to answer this question. Can you?

lol
You're killing me..
I think every announcer is somewhat the homer. Its part of the job.
So if that is where we set the bar at .. ie that is zero, than Scully should be a -1 and the Braves guys are solid at Zero.
I would rate the Padres announcers at a +1. Matt Vasgersian and Mark Grant are only slightly homeristic.
edit: ..oh and if +3 is the highest, then the White Sox guys are a +5

Haven't you missed me? I'm on the mlb.com radio shows, in the College and Minors Cafe Forum, working on freelancing articles, and constructing a 2007 top 100 prospects list these days.
I'll try to come by and say hi every once and a while. Maybe if I got more of what I was after and treated like a cafe regular/writer (I need credibility icons), I'd be around more often.

credabilty icons? there is no such thing.
I am of course looking forward to that top 100 list when you get it.
Welcome to the cafe offseason, ie: welcome home.
P.S. Seriously though, with my three years of service time here at the Cafe, I'm like the grandpa in Ricky Bobby - really just 22 - yet these young bucks are coming at me like spider monkeys.
When they're reading my bylines in some major baseball publication, they're going to be like, "...and I ragged on that guy once for asking me to think."
Pick your battles wisely young bucks; I have credentials.
