Would the real Oliver Perez please stand up?

Perez is a bum and if you take today's AAA squad/mail it in effort from the Braves as meaningful you are only kidding yourself. Starting Perez in a fantasy league is not like playing with fire, it is like playing with nuclear weapons.

The Braves offense does this every so often. It's either ridiculously good, or the whole offense just goes into hibernation against awful pitchers (see: Pedro Astacio). It's never a couple guys do well, others struggle, it's all or nothing. I'd like to see him do it against a good team.

I dropped Daniel Cabrera for Perez in the 5th inning of the game. I'm not about to give Perez the green light in his next couple of starts, but I need huge games, and the waiver wire Jeff Weaver types are too consistent to make up 10 points in 4 weeks

All depends on the matchups, but he's got a winning team behind him, so he's got a shot at some W's and Ks, even if he ruins my WHIP.

Perez' stuff was nasty today. I agree that no one would should jump on any bandwagons over one start but the important thing to me is that Perez is healthy. The concerns that he lost velocity due to a problem with his arm don't seem likely at this point. Maybe Rick Peterson is the x-factor. As for the Braves line-up, Larry is hurt and McCann sat the 2nd game of the DH but until they sat Jones and Renteria this was their primetime line-up. Granted, not the greatest of line-ups but anyone who credits the Braves' hitters with Ollie's success today just did not watch the game.

Well unless pedro has a setback that was probably a wasted move.
