Pick one of four pitchers for 2007

If you had to pick one of these to hold onto because of potential in 2007, who would it be? What if you kept two?

I would give Mathieson a shot. His K rate has not been bad, and even though he does not have ace potential, I think he could become a solid pitcher in the majors in the future.

Mathieson

Postby Hermida » Thu Sep 07, 2006 6:48 pm

I would avoid Mathieson and go with Gorzelanny. Rumor has it that he might need TJ surgery:

Scott Mathieson is off to see Dr. Lewis Yocum for a possible torn ligament in his elbow.

It looks like he might require Tommy John surgery for the injury he suffered in Saturday's game. Such a procedure would cost him most or all of 2007.
