The possibility exists that Jonathan Papelbon will be shut down for the rest of the year, the Boston Globe suggests.
Papelbon is concerned that the dye injection he'll receive for Monday's MRI could affect his shoulder. He had one when he was in the minors and said his arm felt "groggy all year." Papelbon doesn't believe he has a tear as he can raise his arm over his head, but he says the tightness in his shoulder has not subsided. Of course, Papelbon is not a doctor, so like him, we'll all have to wait for the results of the MRI exam.
