Yeah I'm in a battle for the 2nd place bye, and it appears that I have won WHIP, and the matchup, because Otsuka came in and allowed one hit in his third of an inning. The playoff race in my league is also hinging on Gustavo Chacin and Kelvim Escobar's outings today, though that doesn't involve me.

H2H may be lucky, but it's also exciting on these final days.

In one league I'm cruising (guaranteed 1st place regardless of what happened today), but another I'm really sweating. Hanging on to 2nd place by the skin of my teeth going into the night game. And I really need that bye -- my team's banged up, and I've struggled mightily against the 6th place team this year. What it all comes down to -- Scot Shields. I have a 1.15 to 1.16 lead in WHIP going into the night game, and the only pitcher either of us has going is my opponent with Shields. If I lose WHIP, I drop to 3rd place. If Sheilds pitches a perfect inning, I'm toast (and my screams shall be heard throughout the Great Lakes region). If he posts a 1 WHIP (or higher) I hold on -- better yet, if he doesn't appear at all I win. Please, if any of you have psychic powers to influence this game, focus on making this happen. I'll return the favor for what you need, though my psychic mojo is admittedly weak

In one league I'm holding onto the 6th place going into this final week (7th place is 1 GB)

Good news is that I should be holding onto my playoff spot with an 11-1 victory. The guy in 7th is losing 4-7 but I think he might pick up a category or two today, but it's still not enough since I'm not losing any categories.

In another league I have a playoff spot secure from the look of the scoreboxes but it's mostly an issue of whether I end up with the 4th, 5th or 6th place.
