~When asked how Saturday's collision compared to the violent collision he had with teammate Mike Cameron last season, Beltran said that one was much worse because he didn't know where he was.
"It's totally different. Today I knew where I was. After I heard the boos I knew I was in Houston," he said with a chuckle.
~"It doesn't hurt, but I can't bend it," Beltran said before going to St. Joseph's Hospital.
~A Mets spokesman said Kadramis just happened to be at the game. Beltran said Kadramis told him there was no ligament damage.
~However, there was a lighthearted feeling in the Mets' clubhouse after the game that suggested they could have Beltran back soon.
Two television sets were turned to the Notre Dame game, and even Randolph cracked a joke.
When asked if Beltran said anything to him, he replied, "Just ow, ow, ow." funny!
~Floyd, the first player to Beltran, was optimistic.
"I saw him bang his knee," Floyd said. "He'll be all right. He was able to walk on it."
