Well ya know, designated hitter, designated for assignment, it was something with the word "designated" I'm positive! :-B

At this point , either option is equally absurd to me, but I'm a little loopy.
The words "designated hitter" and "Mark Loretta" just don't belong in the same sentence.
Neither do "Youk", "cleanup", and "left field". !+)

Nah, what's sad is that the Jays can't beat a team with Loretta at DH... :-/

They DH-ed Loretta because he has a quad injury that he has been playing with. They wanted to get him a night off defensively because of the injury.
