Come to think of it, if he does get traded, waived or released, he can't play in the playoffs so... most likely he would be a free agent. I don't see why they released him. It's not like they're gonna get another player or cash for him as if he were traded.

Apparently the guy that posted this news misread what he was reading. Looks like he is going to be the designated hitter and NOT designated for assignment. Big difference.

Yes I started the thread . What I meant was the guy that posted it where I read it must have misread. I looked on the Boston site and as of late last night the only news was about Wells.This is what I read on another site.
