is he a guy who might get a sept call up? Atkins has played pretty well this year, and stewart was imo pretty dissappointing this year with a 271 avg and only 10 hr. but there is no question that the kid can play. however with atkins there is stewart more likely to stay down and maybe get a shot next year?

the guy is in AA, rushing him would be a mistake and he would suck if rushed IMO.

But stranger things have happened, Garko sucked this year in AAA, hitting .300+ now in the majors.

yea, i didnt think he really had a shot for a call up this year, cause of atkins. but i was basically wondering if anybody else heard different

No chance he'll be called up this year. He still has plenty to work on, and with Atkins playing so well will probably have to move to a new posistion, which lengthens the time for a call up. Not sure if he'll get the call even next year, depends on his progress I guess.

Rockies are moving him to the OF, so Atkins blocking him is no longer a concern. However, who knows how long it will take him to adjust to a corner OF spot. He seems like a pretty athletic kid so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, but you never know for sure.
