Twins acquired first baseman Phil Nevin and cash from the Cubs for a player to be named.
He's performed well lately, so Nevin might get a chance to take over as Minnesota's primary designated hitter, supplanting Rondell White. Even if he doesn't, the Twins will benefit from another option against left-handed pitchers. He's worth grabbing in AL-only leagues. This pushes Jason Kubel further down the depth chart and could make him a non-factor over the rest of the year.
